Today the neighbor's tree seemed to have captured the sun within its branches: the yellows and reds glowed like fire. It is not just an artist's spirit that is lifted and carried aloft by such a glorious display of color.

I love the way this leaf is framed within the pavement by a triangle of cracks. Somehow it is fitting that a drying leaf comes to rest on cracked pavement. I find the textures pleasing as well.

In a very short time, Photoshop Elements provides the beginning of a design. I shall work more on this, later.

I think its a lifestyle, one that most will never embrace. A lifestyle with no cares and just being chill going with the flow. Not being afraid to step out of line and a general unattached sense. Sort of an uncaring, willing to let everything just brush off your shoulder not concerned with everybodies fast paced lives and everything else that goes with that. Its a life of leisure and carelessness, just having fun and where ever you go is where you go. Not knowing what is next and not caring that every detail of your life is not planned. One of the guys off the Quicksilver Surf team put it best when said, "If you live life out of a book, you'll never have fun." So true!

I could be happy in some shanty with a board and the beach as my backyard. Nothing else would matter, of course some food and I guess if I had to a job... Other than that I could be pleased with just that, it would be even better if it was out in Cali or Hawaii or Fiji or something like that, but I would settle for Cape Hatteras North Carolina if I had to.

I miss it so much, now I live in Michigan and yeah there is not really any surf unless you want to have icicles hanging from your hair lol. Sad but true I guess the only time Grand Haven, MI gets good waves is when it is freezing cold. :(

Walking around and looking at my surroundings have been a surreal feeling today. Everything has been glowing and I have been filled with such joy.

I know it is because of the fact that my decision has been made. Still, the reason is not important.

It is just the most amazing and astounding feeling when you spend a whole day, from the second you open your eyes to the last moments before you fall back asleep, in a state of complete and utter state of wellbeing.
Of happiness.

And I wish my all my smiles I have shared with people i´ve met on the street will go further. That the feeling of serenity and relish was infectious (not too sure of my english here..) enough to make them pass it on. To smile at the next person.

For no reason.

Not in a bad way, though! Everything has been so good including the weather - and the forecast states it's going to remain 21/22 degrees for the remaining 5 days so :D . I even have a wee tan already and will continue to enjoy this vitamin D which we are sorely lacking in Scotland (incidentally, a few weeks ago some research/news came out linking the higher rates of disease in Scotland to the absence of sun, rather than our diet of bevvy, deep-fried mars bars, and various other unhealthy activity).

Tomorrow will be spent not doing much again - though I might go up onto the roof (which I shouldn't really, not on my own) to push some tiles back into position that seem to have moved. I'm planning to get the roof overhauled next year so it's none too urgent - however, any additional damage from water coming in that can be avoided should be. I've finished cutting the grass now more or less and the roof tiles is the only other urgent thing left to do.

Next week Monday I'm meeting my mate P. and doing some shopping for friends etc., and on Tuesday is the day of getting ready to go back. I'll continue doing nothing/hardly anything over the week-end, because I know that when I get into work next Wednesday all hell will descend upon me. Today I logged in quickly to my email account to send off that application, and noticed over a hundred new emails that will need to be dealt with. I.e. it will be shit soon enough, so I should get sun and nothing, and emptiness (as in: the absence of noise and interference) for as long as possible!
