First Motorstorm now Eastasiasoft have revealed a partial list of trophies for the upcoming Soldner-X. I don't know how they do it, but they've gone and done it again. PS3Trophies.co.uk has delivered us some news regarding a trophy list for another of Sony's premier first party titles. - Tecmo ha annunciato Quantum Theory per PS3.Il gioco verrà mostrato alla fiera d dovrebbe trattarsi di un action-rpg in terza persona.

- Nei suoi annunci pre-TGS (invero abbastanza deludenti n.d.r.), la Namco-Bandai ha confermato che per PS3 arriverà in esclusiva l'ultima versione di Tekken 6, denominata "Bloodline Rebellion". La versione per console sarà arricchita ulteriormente da contenuti inediti rispetto alla versione "arcade".

- Rumors:

• Un inatteso Sega Vs Capcom dovrebbe essere mostrato alla fiera di Tokyo. Il gioco, un ibrido tra picchiaduro e rpg, dovrebbe essere previsto per Nintendo DS.
• SONY non presenterà il nuovo gioco del Team ICO alla fiera.
• La presentazione di un nuovo gioco di HALO sembra ormai certa. 

Namco Bandai held a special press conference yesterday (just a few days before Tokyo Game Show), where they went over new and upcoming titles and other special announcements. One of the announcements was that Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion will be heading to the PLAYSTATION 3 (no word when) and will have MORE content than the arcade version (big surprise!)… IGN mentioned in their latest podcast that the PS3 will NOT be getting the regular version of Tekken 6, which was released late 2007 in arcades. More news as we get it!

TEKKEN 6 is not going multi-platform. It's a PS3 exclusive and the PS3 will have the last version of the game.

Demasiado a menudo, los jugadores occidentales nos quedamos con las ganas de probar alguno de esos títulos que marcan tendencias en Japón. Pero en los tiempos que corren, esto ya debería formar parte del pasado.

Para no dejarnos con la miel en los labios, los chicos de Sega ya han anunciado que uno de sus títulos estrella en los países de oriente, saldrá en occidente en exclusiva para PS3.

El juego, que será lanzado en breve en Japón bajo el nombre de Valkyria of the Battlefield: Gallian Chronicles, ya ha atraído el interés de muchos fans. Valkyria Chronicles combina elementos estratégicos propios de los juegos de rol con secuencias de acción en tiempo real, todo ello narrado con un apartado visual innovador y preciosista.

Todo transcurre en un hipotético continente (que según nos dicen,  recordará a la Europa de los años 30) dividido por el dominio del Imperio y la Federación. El Imperio ha puesto sus miras en un pequeño país neutral llamado Gallia. El juego sigue las aventuras de un joven soldado llamado Welkin y de sus compañeros de armas del 7º Pelotón de la Federación, a través de las épicas batallas que decidirán el destino de Gallia.

En cuanto al motor que hace que este juego cobre vida, podemos decir que se llama ‘CANVAS', y ha sido desarrollado internamente por SEGA Game Studios Japón. Gracias a este nuevo motor, los gráficos de Valkyria Chronicles podrán sacarle todo el partido al rendimiento de PS3TM.

Pero la cosa no se queda en un nuevo motor, también se ha creado un sistema de combate táctico específico conocido como ‘BLiTZ' que nos permitirá movernos por los escenarios y atacar a nuestros enemigos en tiempo real. Cada campo de batalla tiene una visión panorámica que permite reconocer en un instante la posición de tus unidades y su entorno. Cuando se quiere mover una de ellas se pasa a una cámara trasera que permite ver el escenario bajo la perspectiva del personaje y se toma el control del mismo en tiempo real. Hay un medidor que indica el máximo de distancia que se puede mover cada miembro de tu equipo antes de pasar su turno. Al margen de eso es como jugar a un título de acción. Las acciones de cada personaje son variadas y van desde las normales a habilidades especiales, como tiros capaces de realizar más daño o ser más precisos. Todo eso está controlado en tiempo real, mientras que los puntos y el medidor de distancia van limitando los movimientos, dándole al juego el carácter táctico que requiere.

"El público europeo ha seguido las noticias que llegaban desde Japón sobre Valkyria Chronicles, y hemos recibido muchas peticiones para su publicación europea en los pasados meses" comenta Javier Rodríguez, Director de Marketing de SEGA España. "El apartado visual único del juego, junto a su apasionante historia son tan sólo dos razones por las que estamos encantados de traer este título a nuestro país."

A partir de mañana, 9 de octubre, podremos disfrutar de dos niveles de demostración. El juego completo estará disponible en octubre de este mismo año.

Potential buyers are plumping for cheaper Xbox 360

Sony is feeling the pinch in the US following Microsoft's recent spate of Xbox 360 price slashing and needs to reduce the cost of PlayStation 3 before Xmas 2008, according to latest analyst reports.

EDAAR analyst Jesse Divnich claims that the PS3 is "too steep" in price for a mainstream market, urging "Sony to consider a possible hardware price cut this holiday season."

"We should note that if Microsoft's first-party titles perform significantly better in quality and popularity than Sony's this holiday season, we could begin to see a considerable amount of potential PS3 owners, who may be waiting for a PS3 price cut, to choose the Xbox 360 over the PS3."

Divnich goes on to predict that Epic's Gears of War 2 (exclusively developed for Microsoft's Xbox 360) will be the biggest selling game in the US this coming Christmas holiday season.

While the Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade system now costs under $200 in the US, the PlayStation 3 cost of $399 over in the States "is simply too steep to entice the casual and mainstream markets, regardless of how great Resistance 2 and LittleBigPlanet may be," adds the analyst.

Divnich estimates that there were 320,000 Xbox 360s sold in September in the US compared with 215,000 PlayStation 3, but also notes that "if September hardware sales fall below our estimate (under 200,000 units), it could be an indication that the Xbox 360 price cut played a bigger role on hindering PS3 sales than what we originally expected."

"The surge in Xbox 360 sales likely came from the mainstream and casual markets who were enticed by a sub-USD 200 Xbox 360 SKU," he added.

TechRadar has contacted Sony for further comment on the matter.

Vista is taking some getting used to. So is Office 2007. It's going to take me a little while to get back up to speed with my bookmarks and such, but I'm hoping that this machine is going to last awhile and that the end of my computer troubles is finally here. We can hope, right?

On the gaming front, I spent most of Tuesday playing Yakuza on the PS2. Considering that I have the sequel, which I bought new last month, I figured that it was time that I started finishing up the story that I'd started a few weeks ago so that I could get into Yakuza 2 fully up to speed and see what awaits Kazuma-chan. I've been leveling up my Body stats consistently, so I now have a pretty lengthy health bar. I think it's at Level 7, which isn't too bad.

I've been enjoying the ride so far. The story has kept my interest, but I've found the itch to separate from the main story and just explore the city. I've looked for fights, played some slots, take some time in the batting cages, and dated a couple of girls. I wish that the visuals held up better on my HDTV, but they don't; there's lots of polygon tearing and some smeared texturing, which makes for an ugly game, at times. I have to admit that I'm really enjoying kicking the crap out of street thugs and other enemies; it's pretty satisfying to finish off an opponent by stepping on his head and squishing it like a grape. Niiiice.

My PS3 time on Monday was spent largely playing PSN games. I have over 25 games to play on my hard drive, so it's like I don't even have to put a disc in the machine at all lately. Granted, that will change when Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour arrive later this month... but I'm pretty content for now. There are some games that I am interested in this month besides the music titles, though... like Eternal Sonata, Blitz: The League II, Bioshock, and a few others. I don't think that my money situation is going to allow me to gert everything I want, so I'll have to be selective.

Speaking of Blitz, I spent some time playing the original NFL Blitz on my PSone last night. Can you believe that it's been nearly 10 years since this game came out? Geez. Anyway, I'm off to a 5-0 start and getting better the more I play. I'm still focusing more on running than passing (too many interceptions when passing, especially when I'm ahead), but I am averaging nearly 33 points a game while allowing about 25 points per game. That's not too shabby when considering the trademark rubberband AI that always seems to keep things close. One interesting stat is that, through my first 5 games, I have been the beneficiary of exactly ZERO turnovers. No interceptions, no fumble recoveries, nothing. I'll be watching that trend when I fire up the PSone in a short while to get some more games under my belt.

After entertaining my Blitz craving, I think that I'm going to want to start playing through Chrono Cross. I got through about 40% of the game when it first came out, but then I stopped playing it. I plan on starting from the beginning and just seeing what happens. After that, I still have the Final Fantasy triumverate (VII, VIII, and IX) to play through... but, with the DS version of Chrono Trigger due in a few weeks, Chrono Cross seems like the best pick.

So... it's good to be back after being without a (reliable) computer for a few days. I'll be writing again soon, but Blitz awaits. *grin*

Contrary to earlier reports that Tekken 6 won't be at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, 1Up has revealed in a new preview that a playable version of BR is present at TGS, with all 40 characters (including newbies Alisa and Lars... heheh... Lars..) present and accounted for. So far we know that the Tekken Dev't Team is shooting to flesh out the characters' storylines a lot more fully in the home version, with a lot of emphasis on the Mishima-Kazama-Mishima-Alexandersson conflict (man, what a family). The 1Up guys seem quite charmed by bubbly android Alisa, who is confirmed to have been created by Doctor B. in the image of his deceased daughter... an anime/manga trope if I ever saw one, and it should be quite interesting to see how it plays out in the story. Anyway, there's also a teasing bit that suggests that Alisa may not be the only Bosconovitch playable in the game... Hmmm....

Man, hopefully this means we'll be seeing more vids and gameplay on T6BR from TGS. I am STARVING of content from this game. More on this as I get it.
