i know its sunday and all, but i cant help working on schoolstuff even during my time off. but after all, my classes are of the creative kind, an as some of you guys out there are well aware off, im one of those people that are most happy when creating, so.... sparetime  ideas and schoolwork blends easily these days :D

we've started on one of our bigger projects,now. one portrait of one of the guys in your workgroup, one groupphoto, -and one selfportrait is to be made and delivered during the next upcomming weeks.... ive got the ideas ready, theres no problems with that. the only thing is -im not looking forward to that selfportrait thing xD have i gotten too selfconsious over the years? oh yes. but the redeeming quality to that task, is that it gives me a chance to express my innerself too. and i need to do that sometimes through the stuff that i create. im guessing we have to do that to present ourself in a way to the teachers and eachothers. thankfully, thats the only pic we dont have to show the rest of the class, and explain to them. that gives me some freedom. i want to be honest in my portraial about myself,and i will explain it to the teachers. but i dont feel like opening up about everything to everyone just yet. so,thats a nice thing that i will be able to be honest and open, but a the same time get the chance to keep my silence about some things.

what scares me, almost six years past my D-day,so to speak, is how much of my inner realizations and cooping,seems to seep through and into my 'art' - or creative stuff, these days. but, compared to how i treated some of the other 'layers' and things, and how they seeped through and came up in my creations for a while right before i was able to let them go, this is nothing less than a good sign. atleast i consider them to be. whats more, new ideas unrelated to my memories and problems are popping up too, and i cant tell you how good that feels :D maybe, when ive finaly finalized and taken the shots for my 'Red's Revenge' concept idea, ill be able to lay it all to rest. of course, if the images turn out half as amazing as the idea in my head, i will have to put them in that photobook we each are going to make at the end of our study, and the memories that created the need for that concept will always be present in my life in more ways than one. but it will be different. consider this : in a sense, I am Red Riding Hood in my real life, and one of the images in the short series will in particular be an homage to my very own revenge. and then i will be saved. i will be free. and that thought alone just drives me forward, even though i know it will be expensive to get some of the props that i need for that shot. i think i will take them this autumn/winter,and then just let them be until spring. then i will take a new look at them, and see if i will have to/want to take new shots. my skills will improve a lot by then, if the school and their program is anything to go by,so :) i wont stop until i know for certain that i have managed to make them as good as they can be, and as similar to the images in my head as possible. im considering splitting up the series too, but im not sure.... so far ive got plans for three images, but i might drop one of them, and use another for another idea ive got brewing, leaving only the final shot as 'red's revenge'. but i love the dynamic of two of the shots next to each other in particular, as well as the fact that i would love to keep the detail in the first that sort of make them go together...then theres the reasons for the colour choices that ive made, that gives them both that different dimension. well see.... ill shoot them in a way that gives me the chance to deside during post-production, what to do about them all.

luckily, it seems ive picked a pretty wicked model for that 'choose one of the guys in your studygroup, and take their portrait' thing-shes inspired me a lot just throgh her interests, the movies she like, her outlook on some of the things in life.what she wants to learn, how she wants to change and evolve. and how she see herself. ive already written down what i want it to be like,and all i have to do today, is to make a sketch, make some plans considering location, and how to get some props.i cant wait to get started :D

the grouphoto? i came up with the idea a few days before we got the assignment. and i made a simple sketch the day before we got said assignment. and i really wanted to take that photo. pretty wicked,eh? :D so i got some of the pre-production on that one down already too. all i lack now, is a couple of props, but that will be taken care of soon enough :)

for the selfportrait...ive got some ideas written down. my moodboard is finished.some extremely sketchy sketches have been made, and i am going to talk to some people about location concerning one of my ideas either on monday or tuesday. not sure yet. that one will certainly be a bigger production alltogether, so im thinking i should keep saving it (like ive done for a while now..) for later, when ive improved my lighting skills. it would be so lovely to just strip it all down for this first one, and do something a little more organic and straight to the point at the moment,instead. as opposed to something big, demanding and in your face. but i will do that project later, ive promised myself that much :) only probably not just right now :) i dont need to be that honest during the first month in school...

other shots ive got comming up..... ive got some ideas for this 'night/city scape' thing,that i am planning, that i will probably work on during the autumn (need more darkness earlier in the night NOW!). not really the epithome of originality, but a fun way to get to know my cam even better, not to mention the fact that i love shots like that :) then theres the 'the candy murder' series comming up....need some props(candeeeeeeeeh),some cool make-up and probably a couple more models(shouldnt be too hard to find, lol ;) -look!!!free candeeeee!!), as well as a fitting,stripped down location and good light, but i will be shooting it soon :) atleast sometimes during september or october ;) -november at the latest ;) i might even incorporate it into my schoolwork, but that depends on the assignments, of course :) nomatter what, the little candystore 'kremmerhuset' will be visited pretty soon ;) lets just call it a little research-trip.... ;)

i should go do some stuff.... make some sketches and take some tryout pics...

I posted the exact same thing at the Photomalaysia forums and interestingly, one person commented that there is nothing bad or anything too spectacular about the photos which makes me feel like I've hardly made much improvement since my first shoot. Perhaps model portraiture really isn't my kinda thing. I'm not the kinda person who likes to talk and give instructions to people I don't know well.

Maybe street portraiture will be more of my style... but that means I really have to turn into a stalker.

Hannah and I have become buddies in the couple of times I have been with their family while photographing them. I was there to photograph Hannah's new baby sister (see a few posts below,) but got a few photos of her as well...

She started off a little shy, but warmed right up. Hannah is going to be a great big sister. I can't wait to see these sisters grow together. What a sweet family.
