Eine Bewegung namens "Esperantoliga für Freiheit auf Hokkaido" ( Libera Esperanto-Asocio en Hokkaido ) hat sich daran gemacht, Proteste gegen den Gipfel und globale Ungerechtigkeiten aller Art zu planen.Heute ist der universelle Charakter des leicht erlernbaren und ohne große Ausnahmen auskommenden Esperanto etwa an Zusatztools erkennbar, die der Browser Firefox anbietet - darunter ein Esperanto-Wörterbuch. Weltweit, so schätzt der finnische Linguistiker Jouko Lindstedt, beherrschen zehn Millionen Menschen die Sprache. Sicherheitsbehörden in Japan sind schon jetzt nervös - denn die Einsatzkräfte verstehen diese Sprache nicht :-)

Zum Tagungsort der G8 Granden werden Japans streitbare Esperantisten kaum vordringen können, denn die Regierungschefs kommen in einer natürlichen Festung zusammen , dem "Windsor Hotel Toyako", das sich am Kratersee eines erloschenen Vulkans befindet. Und vor der Küste Hokkaidos patrouilliert die japanische Marine mit "wendigen" Einheiten – ähnlich wie die deutsche Marine vor Heiligendamm.Auch der BKA Präsident Ziercke war schon vor Ort um die Japanischen Polizeieinheiten dort zu Unterrichten.

Schließlich hat man in Deutschland in Heiligendamm eindrucksvoll gezeigt in wie weit man mit Aktivisten umgeht durch Überlegene Technik und wie man Mobile Einheiten gezielt und effizient einsetzt. Von Polizei bis Bundeswehr - alles dabei.Von Schnellboot vs. Schlauchboot das versucht auf Biegen und brechen , "hochgefährliche" , "Gewaltbereite" Greenpeace Aktivisten in Form von kleiner Boots - Kopfnuss davon abzuhalten das Ufer zu erreichen , und damit die wehrten Hohen Herren dieser Kapitalistischen Elite zu gefährden.Man verzeihe hier mir die Satire in Bezug auf die Greenpeace Aktivisten die in keinster Weise die Absicht hatten Gewalt anzuwenden.

Wie sie auf dem Mega Strandkorb saßen und ihren Freundinnen und Freunden daheim zuwinkten, ist einfach ergreifend ! Wir erinnern uns noch ? “Georgi”, “Angie”, “Toni”, “Niki” und “Wladi” - G8 2007 ! Die Almosen für Afrika senken weder das Fieber der Finanzinvestoren noch die Bereitschaft der staatlichen Entscheidungsträger, die Wasserversorgung, das Stromnetz und das Gesundheitswesen in den Ländern des Südens zu privatisieren.Wurde durch den Gipfel der Reichen und Mächtigen und die Zauberwelt an der Ostsee das Zeitalter der Ausbeutung verkürzt ? Die Ausbeutung von Klima und Menschen läuft weiterhin nach Plan.Daran wird auch dieser G8 - das Maßen Spektakel das Unmengen an Geld verschlingt das wo anders wieder fehlt.

Auch wenn einige sagen das ein G8 Gipfel immer ein wenig Positives bringt , was ich bezweifle. Dennoch sollten die Sorgen und Ängste vieler Menschen auf der ganzen Welt ernst genommen werden. Es kann nicht angehen, dass einige wenige immer reicher werden und die Masse immer ärmer. Während Harz IV - Empfänger mit rund 350 Euro monatlich abgespeist werden, genehmigen sich Politiker, Manager und Vorstände die Millionen.Geld wird unterschlagen, Leute werden entlassen, sie verkehren mit Prostituierten. Alles Betrügereien auf Kosten der Arbeitnehmer. Pfui Teufel, dass ist eine Ungerechtigkeit und ein Skandal. In der guten alten Zeit hätten diese Gauner wenigsten noch soviel Anstand besessen und sich aus Scham über diese Schande erschossen. Aber es gibt heute kein Ehrgefühl mehr, am wenigsten in dieser Kaste.Aber diese humane Bildungsgesellschaft schert das natürlich einen Dreck, und warum ? Weil man sich ein paar Millionen Verarmter locker leisten kann !

Man hat euch arm gemacht und zwar zugunsten einer Schicht, die inzwischen in Reichtum regelrecht badet.

Die Armut zahlen werden in den nächsten Jahren noch drastisch nach oben gehen. Und mit ihnen die " Kollateralschäden " wie Suizide und Krankheit, die einen, weil sie das Leben, dieses Dahinvegetieren, nicht mehr ertragen können; die anderen, weil sie sich die Praxisgebühr nicht leisten können. Die Enteignungswelle der Menschen ohne Arbeit oder mit zu geringen Löhnen hält an. Und zwar Weltweit beginnt so wie ich finde die Endzeit , wie sie obwohl ich nicht Religiös bin ,die Bibel schon beschrieb.Nein vielmehr übertrifft das heutige schon die Bibel um ein zehn faches . Daran wird auch kein G8 Gipfel etwas ändern - nein er wird es sogar forcieren , es wird verteilt , geschenkt und gelogen !

An was mag unsere wehrte Bundeskanzlerin wohl denken bei dem "G" vor der Acht ?

Vielleicht an den G - Punkt ?

Was passiert aber dann wenn der G Punkt gereizt wird ? Diese Frage stelle ich mir bei jedem G8 und muss immer wieder das selbe erleben.Proteste hier und da - mal da ein Steine Werfer , mal ein Steine Werfer der eigentlich ein Polizist in Zivil ist , usw. Ich denke die Japanische Polizei wird den Deutschen Kollegen in nichts nachstehen , damit diese Party wieder zelebriert werden kann unter dem Deckmantel der "Fürsorge" .

Selbst wenn der Wunsch der Vater des Gedankens ist, diese Gesellschaft käme aus dem Schielen nicht mehr heraus ! Und auf Dauer würde dies der Wohlstandsgesellschaft nicht bekommen ! Und nun auf , auf zum Aufstieg des politischen Neoliberalismus !

Ich bin ja mal echt gespannt wann das ganze Drama seinen Lauf nimmt.Börsencrash hier und da, Afghanistan und überall ,Geld für den und Waffen für den anderen - wer war doch gleich der nächste ? Iran ?

Realmente a grafia e gramática de um idioma são convenções. E respeitar ou não estas convenções - muitas vezes arbitrárias e determinadas num passado remoto - é motivo de aceitação ou discriminação em diferentes graus.

Em Esperanto, todas as poucas regras do idioma são claras e objetivas. Não há ambigüidades, e não há exceções! A pronúncia deve ser sistematicamente obedecida com a pronúncia de todas as letras, que possuem um único som. A grafia das palavras referem-se a sua classe gramatical, facilitando a interpretação do texto e expressão do falante. Favorece, inclusive, a criação e adaptação de novas palavras e expressões.

Há muitas razões para a adesão do Esperanto. Além da que acabei de mencionar, existem outras tão importantes quanto. Muitos defendem o Esperanto à frente do chamado "problema lingüístico", sendo umas das maiores faces desse problema o chamado imperialismo cultural, que encerra em si o favorecimento a poucos grupos lingüísticos, e a pouca praticidade da estrutura vigente de comunicação entre sujeitos sociais de línguas diferentes.

Vários estudiosos têm se debruçado sobre esses aspectos. Izabel Santiago levanta várias ocasiões históricas em que o custo de traduções alcança níveis questionáveis: "Nova Délhi, 1968. A Conferência da ONU sobre Comércio e Desenvolvimento custou mais de 2 milhões de dólares, sendo que mais da metade disso foi gasto com o uso de apenas quatro línguas — tidas como predominantes. [...] só em 1976, por exemplo, em vez de serem investidos na alimentação das multidões de famintos, 700 mil dólares foram gastos para traduzir em seis línguas os relatórios sobre a fome mundial." O psicólogo e ex-tradutor das Nações Unidas Claude Piron tem se dedicado à temática, abordando-a sob um ponto de vista psicológico a partir de vastíssimo material bibliográfico e documental, tratando a insistência no atual modelo de comunicação internacional como uma neurose. If the England soccer manager does not speak the international language of English, how can it be so easy to learn?

Total nonsense? That it why, I think, Esperanto deserves a look in.

What's amazing is that, if you started studying Esperanto today, you would be able to carry on a conversation by the end of August, assuming you studied daily. AND it's an interesting language, to boot, with an original literature as well as many texts in translation.

Cette phrase, à elle seule, peut résumer ma passion pour le cinéma. Le cinéma nous parle de tout, aborde toutes les thématiques et les aborde avec moins de froideur que nos bons journaux.

On me parle de la problématique des jeunes par rapport à la drogue et je vous cite « Requiem for a dream » ou encore « Basket-ball diaries ».

On me parle de la violence chez les jeunes et je vous cite « Elephant » de Gus Van Sant ou encore…

On me parle de racisme et je vous cite « Glory Road » ou encore « American History X » ou encore « Do the Right Thing »

Je pourrais faire ça pendant des heures mais ça n’aurais aucun intérêt car je crois que vous avez compris où je voulais en venir.

Pour moi le cinéma est le moyen de communication parfait. Certes il ne remplace pas la « bonne veille discussion » mais avez-vous déjà réussi à parler d’un sujet de société avec autant d’impact qu’à un film? Moi pas! On a besoin du cinéma pour ça. Bien sûr, il y aussi la littérature mais…non. Elle touche moins de gens, elle a moins d’impact car elle demande un effort. Je ne dis pas que regarder un film ne demande aucun investissement personnel (et encore tout dépend le film. Bruce tout puissant, ne demande aucun investissement si ce n’est se laisser porter par les vannes de ce film. Mais remarquez qu’on y aborde certaines thématiques ô combien intéressantes comme les méfaits du pouvoir.)

Pour moi, le cinéma est plus fort que l’esperanto, c’est la communication universelle.

Il faut manifester pour :

-     attirer, avec humour, le regard, l'attention, la sympathie, l'intérêt

-     susciter des réactions, des réflexions, une envie d'approfondir

-     présenter le problème des LANGUES dans l'Union Européenne

-     les DEFENDRE toutes

-     à l'aide du rapport GRIN, montrer que l'Espéranto est une excellente solution.

Les différents slogans suivants ont été retenus à l'unanimité :

• Les cochons volent, les poules ont des dents et tout le monde comprend l'anglais

• Avant de parler, tourner 7 (cette) fois sa langue dans sa bouche . Sa langue ? mais LAQUELLE ?

• Ma langue, j'y tiens. L'ESPERANTO protège sa survie. Aucune langue ne doit dominer le monde

• Celui qui apprend l'ESPERANTO, participe à la défense de sa langue maternelle et de toutes les autres

• Européens "unis dans la diversité" - Vive le multilinguisme ! l'ESPERANTO le favorise.

• En France, je parle français. Ailleurs, je parle ESPERANTO ou la langue du pays.

• "Je suis chez moi, je parle ma langue" (PAUL VALERY)

• "L'anglais, langue du fric. L'Espéranto : langue du coeur ! (GUY BEART)

• "Artificiel, l'ESPERANTO ?" oui, comme une auto, un ordinateur, etc... ça pousse sur les arbres, un rasoir électrique ?

• Si l'ESPERANTO ne vous intéresse pas, soyez sympa, faites une B.A , dites-nous pourquoi !

• 25 milliards par an, ça vous intéresse ? C'est ce que l'Europe, qui gaspille nos impôts, donne chaque année à la Grande Bretagne. Pour le cacher, le rapport GRIN a été censuré.

Creative writing word count is up, way fucking up this week. Imagination lights up and there is no end in sight, I've really got my brain wrapped around using the Notebook format on MS Word. There exists a necessity to write very disjointed but essential technological and historical reference material for the plot that is unfolding, the only way I can keep most things straight is have something written that sort of defines and explains experience in the imaginary world's alternate-history of similar/dissimilar, familiar/unfamiliar. Using the Notebook format allows me to jump between writing what I see as the story and the reference materials I need to keep expanding to properly put the plot in context. I've considered fusing the two, I used to write that way, but the constant change in tone always felt unsettling to read, but I'm in on it all so it was never a great read. I aim for somewhere between speculative fiction and schizophrenic fiction.

An existential crisis exists in that I do not know if I would join a secret society, or not so secrete society (i.e. Masonic Lodge). View that membership is a colossal nightmare should be considered potential road block.

Moshe Safdie, architect/designer, noted Zionist, is on my mind a lot. I'm talking Habitat 67 and the dreaded Merkava battle tank. Too much time at the public library in pursuits of gnosis reaffirms my obsessions are highly interesting, like Israel, weird fiction, video/moving pictures, and Esperanto.

But here's one more post about Esperanto, and then I promise to give it a rest for at least a few days.  (Hey! It's the weekend, and I have other things to do than sit at the computer, 'k?)

There were two pieces of information regarding the use of Esperanto floating about the blogesphere that caught my eye in the last couple of days.

One was a comment by Brian Barker of Esperanto Lobby as a response to my last post.  He is spreading the news that the Universala Esperanto-Asocio has been nominated by eight British Members of Parliament for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2008. And evidently, according to Amikema, by two members of the Swiss Parliament.  If I read it correctly, the UEA is being credited with running a grass-roots peace movement.

When people are talking to each other, they are less likely to shoot at each other.  Sounds like a great plan to me!

The other item is an article in the NewStatesmen, publised May 22, 2008, Observations on Esperanto, by Clare Provost.  You can find the article here.  The Libera Esperanto-Asocio en Hokkajdo seeks to use Esperanto as an information vehicle between anti-globalization activists in Japan and the rest of the world.  These are people that the Japanese security forces consider to be dangerous.

Esperanto, like any other language, can be used by anybody who wants to learn it.  It makes sense that people whose motivations are not entirely peaceful would eventually want to communicate with other like-minded activists in other cultures.

But it also makes sense that Esperanto would become a tool for people who oppose efforts to make everybody in the world look the same.

A common argument against using Esperanto as an international language is that "everybody already speaks English."  Not only is that not true, but even the pilots who get you to your exotic foreign port of call may not be able to speak it.

The problem isn't isolated to Polish flightcrews, either.  I worked for many years at an airport in southern California, and I often had to find a translator in order to speak with the flight crews of foreign registered aircraft.

While it's true that the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has declared that English is the official international language of aviation (and we could spend days debating the socio-political forces behind that decision), we are left to ponder if they could have possibly picked a more difficult language for an adult to learn as a second language.

I love English.  It's my native tongue, and I have spent years admiring its richness and poetry.  But it's damn hard to learn as a second language.

There is an organization dedicated to making Esperanto the official international language of aviation.  As both an esperantist and an aviation professional, I joined the email group.  I wish them the best, but I don't foresee any fruit of their labor any time soon.  English is far too entrenched, and  Esperanto shares many of the same problems with English that the group cites, like words that sound too much alike.   One problem it doesn't share, however is difficulty in learning.

But lately, not so much.  The driving habits of Americans are changing.  Nobody wants to drive long distance anymore for a routine event.

How does this affect the Esperanto movement?

In the region where I live, there are a few locations where the neophyte esperantist can go to get instruction and practice, but they are widely separated.  Each venue had its regular participants, who must drive for a half hour or forty minutes to get there.

Okay, Esperantists are among the most dedicated group of people I know, but they aren't willing to pay gobs of money for gasoline every week.  Some have said that they can attend every OTHER week.  Even at that, I have seen some promising students fall by the way-side because they couldn't muster the transportation to travel to the lessons and chat sessions.

But there is activity on the Esperanto message boards!  People are starting to organize closer activities.  People are contacting social centers like the Universalist Unitarian church and the community college petitioning for lesson space.

At first, this will mean smaller groups, but it will also mean more potential students.  People who couldn't afford to travel can now take public transport or bicycles to a closer venue.

I don't know what the eventual outcome will be, but it's worth staying tuned to find out!
