Ladies,

Let’s talk fashion.... Let’s talk glamour! Webster's dictionary defines glamour as “an exciting and often illusory and romantic attractiveness that make certain people appealing or special." When you wear your clothes would you say that you are glamorous? Are you making your own statement, even if is not a trendy one? I say fashion is personalized and when we dress we should always look our best. Your clothes should always look fabulous on you, and whether or not you wear a size 2 or size 22 they should give your body the look that you want. It is all about creating the ‘illusion’. All of us were not born with the hips and backside of JLo or Beyonce, so we have to work with what we do have. My number one rule has and will always be that your under garments set the foundation before you even get dressed. Take your time, visit the department store and try these pieces on make sure they feel comfortable and are good quality. They will make or break that cocktail dress, that pair of jeans or that form fitting top. So it is important to pick a good quality bra with the right shape and coverage along with underwear and a good girdle with control. Then when you slip that dress on you will definitely see the difference! Always choose colors that flatter your complexion. I know I look smashing in fushia so it is always a great color for me to wear, but if your complexion is pale please don’t pick black choose a color that is a little softer, and if you are darker choose colors that are bold and get you noticed. And if you are still having problems you can never go wrong when you pay attention to what colors get you the most compliments. Beauty is, and always will be personal and individual. Don’t choose a fashion just because everyone else is wearing it; choose it because it looks smashing on you! When you look good, you feel good, your confidence will soar and that my lady, that makes you Glamorous!

Normally I don't discuss the mechanics of this blog on this blog. However, there is a mechanics-related thing that I want to bring up.

If you visit the blog, you'll notice that I've added a link to a Feedburner RSS feed in the sidebar. Clicking the link will take you to the Feedburner site, where you get the option to add the feed to one of a number of apparently popular web-based RSS readers. For those of you who don't use readers, you might want to consider it. Whether you use a web-based reader or one of a multitude of "local" readers (i.e., one that resides on your computer), readers are a useful way of getting at the blogs that you read on a regular basis without skipping hither and yon across the Web. If you're reading this, then hopefully the scrivenings you find here are included in the broad definition of "blogs you read."

I know that there's an automatic RSS feed generated by WordPress. I also know that there are people who use that feed. Now, I can't make you switch to the Feedburner feed, but I can ask nicely. There's a specific reason that I make that request. The way that the statistics tracking works on WordPress.com makes it impossible for me to see how many people are viewing the site through RSS. I can see site visitors easily, but when you view posts via a feed, you're not technically visiting the blog. Hence, I have a perpetually incomplete picture of who is reading, and which posts they are reading. The Feedburner feed allows me to have that information.

Don't worry, there are no privacy issues. I don't know specific things about the people reading a feed except for the fact that they are, in fact, reading it. I want to know these things, quite simply, because I like it when people read what I write. If I know the things people like to read, then I can write more of them. Everybody wins.

So, if you a regular reader and you haven't been using the feed, copy the Feedburner link address and paste it into the web- or local RSS reader of your choice. If you have been using the RSS feed, then consider switching. And, of course, if you're new, keep reading. And feel free to comment. Agree? Let me know. Disagree? Let me know that, too. Conversations are so one-sided when only one person talks.

Some of you may have checked out the videos that I made while helping Silent Theatre prepare their bus for their visit to New York in August. If you haven't you can find them here. There's one of us stripping the bus and another of us painting it.

The reason that I'm writing this though is because I went to see the play that they are taking to New York and it was great. The play is is about Private Detective Harrigan who is looking for a young starlet. He's just about run out of time when he finds her in the last place that he looked. Crazy Al's Speakeasy. The play is a mix of film noir, narration and live music. The way that video and acting is combined is brilliant.

Silent Theatre is performing at the Mary-Arrchie Theatre July 18th through July 25th. Friday and Saturday nights at 10:30 PM. The cost it $10. All proceeds go toward helping Silent Theatre when they're in New York. This is definitely a play that you should see this summer. You will be blown away.

I created a Twitter account. I am enthralled. I love all the conversations. As I sit in my home office running my business, I feel a lot less isolated. I actually feel as if I have adult interactions during my day. Trust me, it is a rarity and a treat.

It was on Twitter where Vicky @eeUS posted a link to her 25 words in response to Liz Strauss' @lizstrauss

The 25 Words of Work / Life Wisdom Writing Project

Vicky's 25 words were inspirational. So much so, I was motivated to check out Liz's explanation of the project. Then, I was so intrigued, I wanted to give it a try. Here is my offering:

I not long ago finished watching the extended cut of Ridley Scott's rightly-acclaimed American Gangster, and although I see no point in calling this a review after already giving my opinion on the Theatrical version...I would like to add that I think this version, although long (I watched it in two sittings, one laaaate last night, the other this afternoon) is my preferred version, as it adds more flashbacks to Frank Lucas' mentoring with his boss Bumpy Johnson, which I think add a whole lot to the movie - and overall I think I enjoyed the film more this time around.

Both cuts don't differ that much, so if all you have seen is the theatrical version, then thats all well and good and you're not missing a great deal - but if you are approaching American Gangster for the first time, seek out the 2 disk special edition which has both cuts of the film...and make your own mind up.

Yesterday I got to go to Six Flags for the first time. I know what your thinking you’ve lived

Yesterday I got to go to Six Flags for the first time. I know what your thinking you've lived in Chicago how long and never been to Six Flags? Well the answer to that is I have never had a car and so was unable to go. Also the several times that my friends were going I was unable because of stupid work. Well yesterday I had a friend with a car(Meredith) and no work. Meredith got the tickets through work which was awesome. And all I had to do for them was visit the Army's Virtual Army Tour. What you ask is the Virtual Army Tour or VAE? Well it's this giant tent set up in the parking lot of Six Flags. When you enter you have to "register", which is basically a way for the Army to get your information. Then you are escorted into the briefing room where you are told about the mission that you will be on. Your separated into groups of 5 or 6. After your briefing you are taken to this big room that has vehicles and guns that look a lot like the things that the army uses. Finally a video starts and your in the middle of the action. Our mission was a convoy to help get supplies to a village. Of course there were bad guys trying to stop us. The guns vibrate and sound pretty real. And when things blow up near you it is pretty loud. As a game it was fun, I know that I wouldn't be able to do it in real life though. I admire the courage and determination that the people in our military have, but the life is not for me. At the end we got a CD that is supposed to be similar to the one we played. I haven't loaded on my computer yet. I'll let you know what I think when I do.

The VAE wasn't the only thing that we did yesterday. Just the first thing of an awesome day! After that we headed straight for the new Batman ride, Dark Knight. Dark Knight was a lot of fun. It was an inside ride and mostly in the dark. The fact that it was in the dark made it impossible to see the track in front of you. So when you went down a hill or around a corner it was a great surprise. While we were waiting in line we kept on seeing people walking past us with this Flash Pass thing. While waiting in the super long line for Dark Knight we decided we would check it out and see if it was worth it. So worth it!

There are two different types of Flash Pass, the regular and the gold. They give you this little device that's sorta like a pager. With the regular your wait time it about as long as everyone else, but basically your spot is reserved. It's sort of like someone is holding your place in line. Then when it's your turn your pager buzzes and you can go through to the front of the line. The pager tells you hold long it is until your turn so you can go through other rides that aren't as long and then head over the awesome ride that you wanted to go on. We got the regular Flash Pass so we pretty much went on twice as many rides as we would have if we'd been waiting in line all day. The gold pass means that you can go straight through to the next ride without waiting. The cost is about twice as much for the gold as the regular, but it's worth it either way. From now on when ever I go to Six Flags I'm going to purchase a Flash Pass.

The one thing that was kind or an annoyance, besides the many people at the park wearing clothes that they should know better to wear was the fact that a certain country music singer that won American Idol seemed to be following me and Meredith. Well she was at two rides that we were going to. Both times right when we were about to get on the ride her entourage walked to the front of the line and commandeered the car, giving the shaft to all of the people that were waiting in line. Personally I have no problem with her getting the the head of the line. I mean Meredith and I paid for that privilege, but we still had to wait for our turn to get on the ride. That wait was maybe 5 minutes. It would seem to me that a much better way to give a good impression of you would be to wait the 5 minutes or so with the people that you want to purchase your tickets and CDs. After all for many people a day at Six Flags is possibly the only vacation that they get all year. Why would you want to annoy these hardworking people? It makes sense to me, but I don't know I could be crazy.

All in all it was a great time and I hope I get to go back again. Meredith and I were talking abut going to Wisconsin Dells too. That would be a lot of fun. I haven't been to a water park since I was a kid. And I've never been to The Dells.

In addition to providing stretching of the leg muscles, ankle weights serve other purposes while recuperating from a total knee replacement. Even though one can achieve a great workout by using a leg extension machine, this can be done at home for dirt cheap.

Here's the step-by-step breakdown of utilizing this muscle strengthening exercise:

Simply take an ankle weight of your desired weight

Wrap it around the ankle of the affected tkr leg

Sit on a chair

Lift your ankle until the leg is straight.

Do 10 repetitions, 3 times

Do throughout day for extra strengthening..

It's the same procedure used during the machinery process. And, ankle weights can be used over and over without paying extra. :)

This exercise strengthens the muscles surrounding your knee. It has worked great for me. :)

Sorry for not posting recently...internet is slow and wordpress required more bandwidth.

Cambodia was tough. The mountain bike riding on rough road was really tough. My body is all beat up, not to mention long hours of boat ride to Pailin then to the border of Cambodia and Thailand.

More details on blog post when I get back.

Some highlights was Angkor Wat, elephant ride, 89 km of mountain biking hell, beach relaxation and lots of massages!

Bangkok is a party town, at least here in the center of town. Thailand is 100 folds more progressive than Cambodia and Vietnam.

I will sure miss the people and the many markets (floating and non-floating) in the provinces we visited.

Not really looking forward to going home yet...

Kabhi kabhi Aditi zindagi mein yuhi koi apna lagta hai.
Kabhi kabhi Aditi wo bichhar jaaye to ek sapna lagta hai.
Aise mei koi kaise apne aansu o ko behne se roke?
Aur kaise koi sochle everything's gonna be ok?

Kabhi kabhi to lage zindagi mein rahi naa khushi aur naa mazaa.
Kabhi kabhi to lage har din mushkil aur har pal ek sazaa.
Aise mein koi kaise mushkuraye, kaise hasde khush hoke?
Aur kaise koi soch de everything gonna be ok?

Soch jara jaaneja tujhko hum kitna chahte hai.
Rotein hai hum bhi aggar teri ankhon mein aansu aate hai.
Gaane to aata nahi hai magar phir bhi hum gaate hai.
Ke Aditi maana kabhi-kabhi saare jahan mein andhera hota hai;
Lekin raat ke baad hi to sabera hota hai.

Kabhi kabhi Aditi zindagi mei yuhi koi apna lagta hai.
Kabhi kabhi Aditi wo bichhar jaaye to ek sapna lagta hai.
Hey Aditi Hasde hasde hasde hasde hasde, hasde tu zara.
Nahi to bus thora thora thora thora thora, thora mushkura.

Tu khush hai to lage ke jahan mein chhaayi hai khushi.
Suraj nikle baadlon se aur baatein zindagi.
Suun to jara madhosh hawa tujhse kehne lagi.
Ke Aditi wo jo bichhad-te hai ek na ek din phir mil jaate hai;
Aditi jaane tu ya jaane na phool phir khil jaate hai.

Kabhi kabhi Aditi zindagi mei yuhi koi apna lagta hai.
Kabhi kabhi Aditi wo bichhar jaaye to ek sapna lagta hai.
( Hey Aditi Hasde hasde hasde hasde hasde, hasde tu zara.
Nahi to bus thora thora thora thora thora, thora mushkura.

[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="320" caption="Taft's Boyhood Home"][/caption]

I hope Obama is enjoying his photo op. I wish he had been with us today at the childhood home of William Howard Taft. If Harding could have been an inspiration to McCain Taft should have been a warning. By not securing the base of his party he allowed it to fracture and as a result when he ran for re-election he wound up with 8 electoral votes and Woodrow Wilson became President.

The Taft home was a monument to William Howard Taft, but to Robert Taft and the rest of the family as well. You could see how he was encouraged to become the man he eventually became by his boyhood home. He was influential not only as a President, but also as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

The best part of the trip was our tourguide--a young black boy who was friendly if not always well-informed. We had a great discussion about how the Republican party was the better party for African-Americans and how Barack Obama would be the worse thing that could happen to his people. I think he learned a lot that will help him make an informed choice in November. I felt really good to know that the Republican party's future is in the hands of people like him. I tried to tip him a dollar as we were leaving, but he wouldn't take it. I guess the guides aren't allowed to accept money.

So, I am going to address three things in this blog post. Something good, something bad, and someth

So, I am going to address three things in this blog post. Something good, something bad, and something ugly.

I will address the bad first. The bad, in this instance, is the pity I feel for Australian gamers. I have learned through numerous sources that Australians really receive it in the anus from all video game companies. First of all, the prices of everything in gaming is nearly doubled in almost every instance, if not worse. For instance, XBOX Live costs Australians $99 US dollars, which is about double to our $50 a year because their dollar is $0.98 to ours. On a similar note, even though the Australians pay double for XBL, they do not get all the fancy features. They will not be able to use the new Netflix feature, nor the 1v100 feature, and they also cannot download videos from marketplace.

That is not the worst of it, though. Not only do they have less features fro double the price, but games are not released there at the same date (or even close to, for that matter) that they are in the US and other major markets.

On a lighter, nicer, side of things, I am going to share with you some wonderful music (as always).

The name of the band is ISIS. Their game: ambient sludge metal. Their Wikipedia page describes them as "post-metal" and "sludge metal". As you could read in their wiki page, they are a Boston-based band, which I was quite excited to hear about.

Anyway, enough about the band itself. The music is what makes them remarkable. Last March, my friend Ryan was like "Hey, you ever listen to ISIS?" and I replied 'Who?'. Much to his disbelief I had not heard of or listened to them before. That's when I first checked them out. At first, I liked them, but it was not obsessed as I am now. The song he played for me was "Garden of Light" which is the last track on their 2006 release In the Absence of Truth. As a whole, that album could quite possibly be one of my favorites in quite some time. In my ears, the best track on the album is BY FAR "Holy Tears". It's the heaviest song, and it lasts for precisely seven minutes and six seconds. That is 7:06 of pure brilliance. I cannot describe to you how moving this song is, or anything else about it for that matter, and do it justice. Because of that, I am going to embed a player with it right now. Prepare yourself for EARGASM.

So? How was your eargasm? If it was not one of the most intense eargasms of your life, you simply do not appreciate sonic brilliance.

Now, we shall move on to the ugly. This is slightly ludicrous to criticize my own blog in a blog post, but, it has to be done.

Since I have been posting here at WordPress, none of the posts I have given you few, wonderful readers have been nothing but useless drivel. Jargon. Empty words. Although they have provided small amounts of insight into my mind, what substance or knowledge have you gained that can be applied in a positive manner? None, as far as I can see, and hat is a problem. There is far too much useless drivel in the world today, what with the failing media and news outlets. Do I really need to be adding to the cesspool of useless banter floating around the Internet? I want to be more, and I feel that the people deserve more. The problem is, however, that I have nothing useful to say. I cannot provide insight to any real dilemmas or real-world issues. I would try, but I would fall into the category of "this guy doesn't know what he is talking about" and I DO NOT want to become that guy.

Will I continue to write in this blog the way I have previously? Of course I will. What better way to improve than to practice?

The other downside is my poor vocabulary usage. I have a very concrete, predictable style of writing, and I wish to change that. The problem I run into is that I do not know how to solve the paradox. Do I keep writing? That could lead to me only solidifying the style I write with now, or if I was able to write with enough discipline I could possibly work my way in a different direction. The most problematic hurdle I run into is a lack of critique. Out of all the readers I have had come to my blog (424 curious visitors, as I type this), I have only received 18 comments. Not a ratio I particularly enjoy. If any of you wish for my blog to become a more interesting, flavorful read, PLEASE help me help you and comment. If there was any confusion, anyone can comment. You do not need to register to WordPress or anything (although, you should get your own blog!).

Now, per usual, I am going to leave you with some wonderful, thought-provoking lyrics:
"Mad made god made man made god made man, my god" - "Painkillers" by Cold Duck Complex

Ciao!

I spent some of today at the casa de mi madre meeting the latest new arrivals. The three baby ducklings from before (a photo of two you have seen before) have now grown to almost full-size. They were having their usual fun and games on their widdle pond and will be ready for the big pond soon.

My favourite duck also gave us a LOLcat wave! It's like he's saying: "Oh, hai!! Kthanxbye!"

But there are also some new ducklings and they are so cute you would never want to eat them! Here are my favourite photos from the afternoon.

They are such funny little animals, so jumpy but so inquisitive. I sat with them for about ten minutes and they were up at the door in no time trying to get out and then leaping away like scared little geese (er, ducks) if I batted them back into their duck house.

We moved them from their duckhouse into a new duckpen after these photos were taken. We had to pick them up to do this, and the bigger of the two yellow ones had me creased in two in hysterics because he was having NONE of it! The others all scrabbled around and made a cheepy fuss, but were caught without too much palava, but this little one literally ran rings around me for five minutes. He figured that if he ran around me so that I was having to turn circles backwards, that I was slower than he was and this game kept us going until I was laughing so hard that my mum had to take over. She got him without any trouble, but not so much fun. I have a little video of them too, so I will see about uploading it if I get a chance.

Friends,

I am back from Junior High week at Blue Rock Christian Camp. What a fantastic week. We did a Route 66 class with the kids and took them through the entire 66 books of the Bible in 9 sessions. When I got their comment cards back--not one negative comment about it! Amazing!

I'd like to share some important information about recent developments in my life. First, my wife and I are in the process of purchasing our first home. We have been married for 17 years and lived in a church parsonage for about 13 of those years and lived in an apartment all the rest. This is an exciting development and we praise God for this blessing.

Second, I have been invited to write for a blog that some of you may know. The blog is CRN.Info and Analysis. This is a very serious blog that tackles the important work of dismantling the criticisms and un-grace of certain blogs associated with the ODM movement. I encourage you to visit CRN not because I write there, but because there is a team of dedicated writers who are committed to the Gospel of God's grace. I should be making my first post there very soon.

I'm glad to be back with you in the world of blogdom. I'll be writing to you again in the very soon future. Thanks to all who visited this week. I'm happy you were here.

PS--I also want to note that in my sidebar, I noted some changes that I made to LUBS earlier this year. These changes are mostly in attitude and graciousness. I still have strong opinions about some things, but I have decided to deal with commenters from a different point of view. Old posts may reflect a harsh point of view, but I have left them unchanged so that you may see growth of character and faith.

Thanks again,

I got this from Chris Dodd yesterday:

Friends,

I just wanted to send a quick note of thanks for your support throughout the entire FISA fight.

While we came up short, the experience working with online activists and embracing emerging technologies in the fight to restore the Constitution was personally gratifying. It's a collaboration that will serve us well as we work with an Obama Administration to end the war in Iraq and achieve universal health care at home.

Meanwhile, I've begun my re-election campaign in Connecticut.

One of our top priorities of the campaign is to replace technological capability not transferable from the Presidential race.

Your $25 contribution right now can help us fund a new website, bulk-emailer, and other tools to foster opportunities for meaningful participation.

Can I count on you to make a $25 contribution, right now?

My reply: Tell Senator Dodd that if he recants his endorsement of Barack Obama and says he'll cast his superdelegate vote for Hillary Clinton at the convention, and works to turn others to the true patriot, I'll send him a contribution to his senate campaign. Otherwise, all I can think is that he is talking out of both sides of his mouth.

Someone asked me if forums signatures were good for link building and gaining SERP. The answer is ye

Someone asked me if forums signatures were good for link building and gaining SERP. The answer is yes. Forum links are great at building links and creating traffic. Forums get indexed pretty quickly by Google’s web crawlers (spiders). To get the most out of your forum links follow these tips. Anchor text is very important when it comes to search engine optimization. Use a keyword anchor text in your signature. If your website is about “bird feeders” then your forum signature should have the words “bird feeder” with a hyper link embedded. The main mistake webmaster make is using words like “click here”, “here”, “go here”, etc. Your keyword anchor text should always be an accurate description of web page it’s linked to. The keyword anchor text is a valuable search engine optimizing tool when used correctly. Not only does it benefit the search engines it also helps web visitors understand what the web page link is about. Try to post comments in a variety of forums and not just one. It is better to have 10 links from 100 forums than to have 1000 links from 1 forum. I see this mistake quite often. A person stays in one forum and will have 10,000 posts and then make a statement like “I have 10,000 posts and have not moved up in search engine rank…what to do? The obvious answer to the question is to quit posting in that forum and find another 100. Google will only give weight to about 20 forum signature links. My advice is post until you reach 100 comments then move to another forum. Here is the guideline, find ten forums and start posting 10 links in each one for 10 days which equals 100 links per day and 1,000 links in ten days with about 200 quality back links. Now here is the easy part. Find 10 more forums and repeat. In 4 months you will have over 10,000 key word anchor text links in over 100 sites. If you follow the suggestions on forum posting you will catapult yourself in the rankings of Google and Yahoo.
